About The Program
The Gay Alliance Education Programs
The Education Programs of the Gay Alliance are on a mission to make all of the Rochester Area a Safe Zone for LGBT and allied individuals.
The Gay Alliance can provide education and training that is relevant and age appropriate in any setting.
From professional in-service (which may include certificate of course completion) or general awareness, to provider specific, policy related or a Speakers Bureau presentation our staff and volunteer educators and trainers can help to dispel myths, provide accurate information, strategize successful inclusion or simply shed light on the realities of life for gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender people in todays world.
Each of our main program areas, Youth, Community Safety, CampusOUT, and History Archives can provide program specific information, but our Education Team can also create a custom curriculum to meet your needs.
In addition to educating about the LGBT communities, we also provide education to the LGBT community. Our community workshops provide an opportunity for LGBT and Allied community members to learn together about a topic of interest.
Most of our education services are available for free or low cost. We will always request an honorarium for our educational services, but, our goal is meeting community needs. Your ability to provide us with an honorarium helps us to meet the needs of more people.
We present at local high schools, colleges, mental health organizations, businesses, churches and more. The Gay Alliance Education Team is made up of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender people and straight allies.
