Colleges and Universities
St. John Fisher College is a collaborative community dedicated to teaching and learning in a personalized educational environment. The College is guided by its Catholic heritage, as expressed in the motto of its founders, the Basilian Fathers: “teach me goodness, discipline, and knowledge.” Through an education rooted in the liberal arts, we prepare individuals for lives of intellectual, professional, and civic integrity, in which diversity and service to others are valued and practiced.
* St. John Fisher College is a proud sponsor of the Gay Alliance and of Rochester Pride!
The Wegmans School of Pharmacy is dedicated to serving the needs of the public by preparing pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care that enhances the quality of life of the patients they serve. The school is committed to providing an environment that promotes academic excellence, service, and scholarship; encourages each student’s intellectual and personal development; and fosters the development of lifelong learners committed to advancing the profession of pharmacy.
The Wegmans School of Pharmacy, which opened in the Fall of 2006, is the first of its kind in Monroe County and the fifth in the State of New York. Construction of the 37,000 square-foot building that houses the school was made possible by a $5 million donation by Robert B. Wegman, Chairman of Wegmans Food Markets, Inc.
The school opened on August 21, 2006 with an inaugural class of 55 students, nine faculty and two staff. Since its beginning, the school has grown to include over 300 students in four classes and over 40 faculty and staff.
* Wegmans School of Pharmacy has partnered with the Gay Alliance through our Education Dept and Roc Pride for many years. They are committed to LGBTQ inclusion and education.
