Manhattan Square Park
THIS JUST IN: NEW Pride Rainbow Ride!
Beginning at 5:15 pm on Friday, cyclists will be bringing the Pride Colors through the Neighborhood of the Arts, and Park Ave., South Wedge, and Corn Hill neighborhoods. Come out and cheer them on as they bring the Pride colors into Manhattan Square Park for the Flag Raising Ceremony. Check out the route here.
Kicking off the weekend is our traditional Pride Flag Raising, in an albeit nontraditional way. Several years ago we were gifted a HUGE Pride flag by the owners of Outlandish Gifts. It has served us well as the Bucks for Pride flag. But what you probably didn’t know is that it has been folded each year. That’s because the flag is so HUGE that it is TOO BIG to fit down the Parade route when fully opened!
Yikes, that’s a mighty big flag!
The full flag has never been seen by the public. UNTIL NOW!
On Friday, July 19 please join us as we display the flag from the space frame in Manhattan Square Park! The Ceremony will open with our Pride Color Guard and also include reading of official proclamations, and sashing of the Pride Parade Grand Marshalls.
