Creating Transgender Inclusive Schools and Campuses

Creating Transgender Inclusive Schools and Campuses

TIME: 2-4 hours

Over the past few years, the number of out transgender, non-binary and gender expansive students in our schools has greatly increased. Frequently teachers, coaches and school staff feel unprepared to work respectfully with transgender students and to create spaces that are safe and inclusive. This interactive workshop includes information on: understanding transgender identities, respectfully communicating with transgender individuals, best practices and policies for your school or campus, dealing with gender specific facilities and athletic programming and more.
