The Gay Alliance Education Programs
The goal of the Gay Alliance Education Programs is to make Rochester a Safe Zone for all LGBT and allied individuals. We provide education and training that is relevant and age appropriate in any setting and is tailored to the needs of the group. From our professional in-services and trainings (which may include certificate of course completion) to our very approachable and casual Speakers Bureau presentations, our staff and volunteer educators can help dispel myths, provide accurate information, strategize successful inclusion or simply shed light on the realities of life for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in today's world.
We speak at local high schools, colleges, mental health organizations, businesses, churches, and recreations centers. Programs can focus on youth, community safety, LGBT history, aging issues for the LGBT community, creating a safe campus, becoming a straight ally, and more.
Our most successful presentations occur when our hosts help us to plan the details, so we will want to talk with you about your needs but, to get you thinking, you can CLICK HERE to see samples of presentations
Our educational programs are reasonably priced and our fees help to support the continuation of this program, but if payment is a hardship for your organization, please let us know. Our goal is to meet the needs of the community. Further, we can work to create a "sponsorship relationship" with you, in which we you become a Financial Sponsor of the agencey, and we will provide a number of educational programs at no charge.

Here is a sample of what participants have said following one of our educational programs:
“This was the best Diversity class our company has EVER offered. THANK YOU!”
“I have a lot of gay and lesbian friends, so I thought I "knew it all," but now I have a better understanding of my friends and co-workers.”
“Your willingness to help my co-workers understand my gender transition made the difference-- I have had a wonderfully successfull workplace transition thanks to your trainers and your expertise!”
"As the token lesbian employee in my company, I was a little embarrassed to attend this session, but I learned as much, if not more then my co-workers. Keep up the good work of touching hearts and minds in order to make Rochester a better place for EVERYONE."
“Now I get it! This training is not just about LGBT people, it is also about us heterosexuals.”
