Inquiring minds want to know… so, InQueery provides learning opportunities on special topics and skills for personal and professional development in safe, inclusive class rooms.

InQueery classes are taught by people with a particular expertise, not necessarily a degree. Like traditional “Adult Education,” InQueery sessions are not offered for “credit,” but for the experience and the fun of learning in community.

Registration for InQueery classes is currently free. Occasionally, special events, trips, tours, tastings etc may have additional supply or ticket fees which will be noted in the class description.  Advanced registration is strongly requested and any fees must be made when registration is submitted.

InQueery classes are most often held at the Out Alliance LGBTQ Resource Center at 100 College Ave. Suite 110, Rochester, NY. 14607. Otherwise, location of each session is provided in the class description and the registration confirmation.

InQueery sessions will meet one or more of these goals:

  • Sessions will focus on issues of interest and importance for LGBT-identified community members, and their friends and allies.
  • Sessions may provide information or training about LGBT identity or the LGBT communities.
  • Sessions will be a safe place for LGBT people, their families, and friends to fully and authentically participate in the activity and learning process.

Teaching Opportunities

InQueery is always looking for people to offer classes in any subject area. Subjects are as diverse as history, theater, crafts, painting, cooking, reading, book study, creative writing, computer skills, and activist training. If you have a skill and want to teach others, InQueery may be your opportunity to reach-n-teach LGBT and allied learners.

Teachers are not paid for leading a session.  If there are special supplies or materials needed, this expense can be passed on to the participants.  If you are interested in teaching with InQueery, please submit the following information:

  • Prospective course title
  • Course description or outline (80-100 words)
  • Your qualifications for teaching this particular class
  • Proposed length of class
  • Class day/times preferences
  • Special material fees or student expenses
