Speakers Bureau Presentations
The Gay Alliance Speakers Bureau
The Gay Alliance Speakers Bureau is active all year long in the greater Rochester area, providing presentations, literature and resources on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and ally (LGBTA) issues. By sharing our personal stories, demystifying sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, and simply answering questions openly and honestly, we strive to breakdown stereotypes, decrease homophobia/transphobia and promote a dialog that will continue on outside of the classroom or office.
We present at local high schools, colleges, mental health organizations, businesses, churches and more. The Gay Alliance Speakers Bureau is made up of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender people and straight allies.

Here is what participants have to say about us:
“I learned more from you in an hour and half than I have ever learned in any class.”
“Hearing you talk about your experiences was a once in a lifetime experience that I am going to treasure forever.”
“They were so open and welcoming, and willing to answer the weird questions we had. What a great night!”
“Before this presentation I thought the same thing (ie. that transsexuals are gross), but I opened my thoughts up to let a diverse group into my life.”
“I wish we could bring them back!”
"Your stories and amazing spirit have left a profound impact on me."
